Wikipedia's marketing strategy ?
For the past 1 month or so we all have been observing a message on every Wikipedia page saying
"A Personal Appeal from .....the founder of wikipedia Jimmy Wales".
It is a request for donations.
But since yesterday (did not see it till then) I keep finding something interesting and appealing ..
I / We find a message from an author of wikipedia Lilaroja. Her face is quite interesting and I am sure it made even more number of visitors read the message and probably made them donate.
Now which among the two images is catchy? (It is okay if you find Jimmy's image more appealing)
Anyways is it not a good marketing tactic ? No offence, it is just my observation and yes I do like wikipedia and its founder.
Now stop wondering whether I donated or not.
